COUNTY OF FRESNO ACTIVATES EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER TO RESPOND TO THE LOCAL WILDFIRES

FRESNO, CA – In response to the Fresno June Lightning Complex Fires (Bolt, Hog and Flash) and evacuation orders, Fresno County has activated the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

The EOC consists of several agencies that collaborate around the clock to provide updates, assist residents, and facilitate repairs. Embedded at the EOC are staff from Emergency Services, County Administrative Office, the Fresno County Sheriff, CALFIRE, Public Works and Planning, Internal Services, Public Health, County Counsel, Social Services, and the National Weather Service.

The Department of Social Services worked with the American Red Cross Central California Region to open the evacuation shelter for those affected by the fires. The shelter is at the Reedley College Gymnasium, 995 N. Reed Ave., Reedley, CA 93654.

Small pets are welcome at the shelter—families are advised to bring their pets’ food, supplies and carriers.
