FRESNO COUNTY’S ANNUAL CROP AND LIVESTOCK REPORT REVEALS THE COUNTY AS THE SECOND AGRICULTURAL PRODUCER IN THE STATE AND NATION
FRESNO, CA – The County of Fresno Department of Agriculture presented the 2022 Fresno County Annual Crop and Livestock Report to the Board of Supervisors today, revealing Fresno County as the second top agricultural producer in California and the nation. The report is a statistical compilation that presents data pertaining to the acreage, yield, and gross production value of Fresno County agricultural products.
The 2022 total gross value for Fresno County agricultural commodities was a record-breaking $8,095,546,000, a .12% increase over 2021’s production value. Fresno County’s agricultural strength is based on the diversity of crops produced. Included in this year’s report are over 183 different commodities, 77 of which have a gross value in excess of one million dollars.
For the first time since 2012, grapes took the top spot with a total gross value of $1,241,178,000. Almonds dropped to the second top gross value of $1,141,308,000 and pistachios remained third with a gross value of $705,941,000.
