Welcome to the Department of Public Works and Planning

Thank you for taking the opportunity to learn about the Fresno County Department of Public Works and Planning (PWP). We are a multi-disciplinary department of over 400 professionals dedicated to providing quality public services in the following areas: public infrastructure/building design and construction, road maintenance, housing and community development, building permitting and inspections, land use planning, natural resource conservation, landfill and recycling, water and sewer services, park services, geographic information systems services, and tourism. At PWP, we strive to improve the economic, environmental, and social quality of life for all residents and visitors of Fresno County.
