Who is covering the Special Inspections and Materials Testing? Are you going to use an on-call firm or a pre-approved firm? (RFC 25631 submitted 3/17/2021)
Materials testing will either be provided by the County’s lab or a pre-approved on-call consultant Response date: 3/19/2021
This project has been advertised to bid on April 15, 2021. However, we are unable to locate the bid documents on the County’s website nor on the Bid Express website. There is a 14% DBE contract goal specified in the Notice to Bidders. In order to comply with DBE good faith effort requirements bidders will need to advertise and solicit subcontractors/vendors by April 2, 2021. (RFC 25959 25881, 25929 and 25936 submitted 3/29/2021)
The bid opening will be adjusted to provide an appropriate length of time once the plans and specs are issued. The barrier rails are being redesigned because they didn’t meet Caltrans standards. We expect plans and specifications to be issued April 7th and the currently planned date for the bid opening is April 29, 2021. Response date: 04/01/2021

Per the Agreement Article V, Section C Professional Liability, Contractor is required to provide a provision for 3 year tail coverage. Please confirm annual evidence of coverage for 3 years would satisfactorily meet this requirement. (RFC 26391 submitted 4/22/2021)
An annual certificate of insurance for three years would be sufficient, with the County listed to be notified in an event of lapse of coverage. Response date: 04/22/2021
Our takeoff from the cross sections shows an import of less than half of the quantity. Will you please check your import borrow quantity and confirm this is correct? The takeoff was done based upon the cross sections put out. (RFC 26495 submitted 4/28/2021)

I do not see the temporary retaining wall anywhere on the plans. We need details on this wall as well, which we cannot find on the plans. Please provide location and details for this, so we can accurately price this work. (RFC 26496 submitted 4/28/2021)
Please refer to Section 48.2.03F of the Special Provisions. The contractor is responsible for the design of the temporary retaining wall or other means and method.
Please refer to sheet 15 (SC-1) of the plans. Item 1-E is intended to retain the existing embankment. Sufficient quantities are also provided if the earthwork in item 1-H needs to be retained at the direction of the Engineer. Response date: 04/29/2021
