The Fresno County Department of Public Health (FCDPH) would like to inform facility owners that the Environmental Health Division (EH) will present a proposal to the Fresno County Board of Supervisors, requesting updates to permit fees, new fee categories, and updates to the Fresno County Ordinance Code.

The FCDPH – EH is mandated by State and Federal law to perform inspections that protect public health, and these services are primarily funded by permit fees. Following a cost study for Fiscal Year 2023-24, it was determined that an increase in permit fees is necessary. New fee categories are being added to align more closely with the services provided. Additionally, the proposed ordinance updates reflect recent changes to State and Federal regulations and include more enforcement options for unpermitted vendors.

On Thursday, November 21, 2024 the public was invited to attend virtual public forums to learn more about the proposed fee and ordinance updates. All sessions covered the same information. Below are the recordings of the public forums, the first recording is available in English and the second recording is in Spanish.

The proposed fee and ordinance updates are scheduled to be presented before the Fresno County Board of Supervisors meeting on December 3, 2024, and December 17, 2024. If approved, the changes will take effect no less than 30 days from the date of final Board approval. The public is welcome to attend these meetings as well.

The PowerPoint presentations from the public forum sessions will be posted to this website. Please check back regularly for the latest information on fees, ordinances, and other updates.
